The next four games....
Newcastle (a)
Cardiff (h)
Palace (h)
Fulham (a)

This run could define our season. How many points would you find acceptable and how many do you expect.

For me, 8 and 10.

Watford has the potential for a high scoring match going either way, Southampton will be difficult, Burnley we could win.

I have to say I thought they we re all winnable but that's very different from thinking they would actually do it.

Seven in a row under Pardew, including the last team to win at Highbury

Next three game will be tricky: Southampton look renewed and our chairman wrote Austin's team talk a while ago, Burnley can beat you up but I agree Watford are the best actual team among them.

We were strolling near the end yesterday and hopefully we come out firing. They had to work a bit near the end vs. Cardiff.

Son of Adam

its going to take a long time (if ever) to shake off that "Shit, something has to go wrong feeling"

My boss is a Man City fan and he hasn’t shaken it off yet. The way he talks you’d think they were scraping lucky results every week

Re: The next four games....
We’re through four of an eight game run and it’s been good to see us turning into flat track bullies and beating teams who quite frankly don’t have squads as good as ours. Watford look easily the best of the eight teams but I think we can win this.

I'm sure I said 12

Thinking Watford will be more clinical...much tougher test and with classic WHU in mind I would take a draw. Can't get used to entertaining the idea that we could win another in a row!!

Would think an 85 run might be possible next year? Too much too soon?

I still tot points up to 40, be mad not too, unless you’re an established top 6 club then you’re not immune from the danger of relegation.

If we’re on anything like 30 come the turn of the year then we’re laughing, probably won’t even need 36 this season.

Interesting that the fifth game on that run was Watford at home and we won 2-1.

Might have a tickle on that score then!

Re: The next four games....
I'd shake hands on eight points from these games I think. we ought to win at least a couple of them. Like others I tend to look at the 40 point mark, but even with that ingrained pessimism I can''t see us being in any way involved in a relegation fight this season, which makes a nice change. It's a real shame we started so poorly.

We'd all love four wins. Watford next could be tricky.

Capitol Man.. No its normal to still think of 40 points. Though these days it's more a magical 36 points

Like most when I saw this I thought OK they are winnable but in typical fashion we will screw up somewhere. Delighted to be proved wrong. If someone had told me before the season kicked off that after 17 games we would have a non negative GD and be 2 points behind the Mancs I would have taken it. It still feels a little underwhelming, If only the start had been better. But in short am loving this, Onwards and Upwards, as for the games coming, 12 points would be orgasmic, but its going to take a long time (if ever) to shake off that "Shit, something has to go wrong feeling" I would take 7-9, anything above is a +. All those four are winnable. Have we ever won eight in a row? Doubt it.

If we spend more than 30 seconds above Manchester United, mainstream media will go into an apoplectic meltdown. How very DARE we???

Of course, the timing couldn't be better. January transfer window. How dare these obviously good players stay with oiky West Ham? Don't they want European football (NOW!!!). Don't they want to play with and against the best???

Move! Move all you good players! Save your careers! More importantly, move to one of our favourite clubs and save our reputations.
